Redesigning your jewellery

LET US TELL YOUR STORY

The Dana's Team takes great pride in working with your sentimental treasures from the past. The custom jewellery pieces we create are one-of-a-kind and unique to each of you and tell your individual stories.

The Design Team works closely with you to ensure we understand your design style and preferences as well as the meaning behind the piece; its history and symbolic references. We are excited to incorporate as many sentimental elements into the new design as we can.

We take the greatest care working with your cherished heirlooms to create the highest quality bespoke jewellery that is both beautiful and meaningful.

Celebrate your anniversary

Redesigning your wedding ring is a perfect way to celebrate your Anniversary. A refresh to suit your lifestyle today while holding onto the sentimental connection of the past. Whether you'd like to stay true to the original design or go with something completely different, it's up to you. Our Designers will guide you every step of the way to bring to life the perfect ring for many more years to come.

memory pieces

We believe that your loved ones would have wanted you to wear it.  Hold onto their memory by repurposing their jewellery into a new design that brings you joy.  Many of our clients have a desire to celebrate those that have passed and feel comfort in wearing these pieces.  It can be an emotional journey that results in a beautiful legacy piece that can be past on to future generations.

the cost of redesigning

Although we do everything we can to work within a client’s budget, a custom redesigned piece of jewellery cannot be compared to one that has been mass produced.

Our pricing is based on many factors including design and production complexity, number of stones removed and reset or supplied, as well as the final gram weight in your metal choice and any additional material costs.

*Any existing gold you have is applied as a gold credit value after tax to the cost of the redesign.

Our Design Process

Initial Consultation

Dana's Design experience begins with a no obligation consultation with one of our design consultants.  The initial consultation is available in store or by video conference (zoom).  We will explore your preferences in jewellery styles, metal options and stone choices as well as provide you with possibilities, design suggestions and physical or visual examples.

*Any existing jewellery intended for redesign should be brought with you for the initial consultation.  For virtual consultations we will arrange for drop off of these items either prior to or after the initial zoom consultation.

Preliminary Designs

After your initial design consultation, we will produce either hand sketched designs or alternative images, physical examples or renderings for your review.

This process is meant to be collaborative.  Once we receive input from you after receiving our initial concepts we will provide one, revised design, image or rendering and an estimated quotation for your approval.

If you require further designs or additional consultations (either in store or virtually) a Design Fee of $500 + HST would apply.

(if applicable)

Stone Removal

Once the general design is approved, it is at this time that we require a 50% nonrefundable deposit and a signed Stone Removal and Resetting Form if you are planning to use some or all of your own diamonds and/or gemstones which are carefully removed, sorted and measured for use in the new design.

CAD Modelling

Our model makers create your one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces using state of the art Computer Aided Design software.

3D Printing

Having a 3D printer on-site gives us the ability to produce 3D models very quickly, which are an EXACT replica of the finished piece and can be tried on for confirmation of the design elements and overall scale.

2nd Consultation

The model(s), as well as coloured renderings are offered to the client to ensure the design is exactly as they envisioned it to be.  When you are comfortable proceeding to completion, we require a signed  'Approval to Proceed' Form.

Production of your Design

Once approved, the design will go into production which includes many processes including casting (plastic resin to your choice of metal), assembly, finishing and setting.

Quality Assessment

Each DG Design is carefully inspected under magnification for quality assurance.

Photography

We are as excited as you are about your new design. The last step in the process is photography to capture this one-of-a-kind story, its brilliance and uniqueness.
